In the event that one dies without a will, the estates will be dealt with in terms of the interstate succession act, which looks at whether the deceased was married, had children and or relatives. It is always advisable to have a will to ensure that in the event of your death, your assets are distributed as you would wish. Note that in the absence of a will, someone will be appointed to act as an executor. It is better to appoint a lawyer in this regard.
